One of the best things about living in Hamilton County is the diversity, not only of the people and cultures but also in the wide variety of activities residents can find to do. A few of my fellow HCLA alumni have shared some of their favorite places and activities Hamilton County offers such as summer concerts, kayaking, the nightlife scene and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! With so much to do, see, and experience, how do you find the balance……the Ying to the Yang?  So, it’s no big surprise that one of my favorite activities in Hamilton County is practicing yoga.

I began my yoga journey in the spring of 2021 at LA Fitness in Noblesville and in the fall of the same year, I discovered Hot Yoga at The Hot Room – Fishers studio. In June of this year, I become a certified Yin Yoga instructor at The Hot Room. While my journey is still new, it is a great pleasure introducing others to the path, practice, and philosophy of yoga. Practicing meditation, journaling, establishing a yoga routine allows you to reap the benefits mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s so important to take time for yourself and find clarity. The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself, and yoga’s holistic benefits allows us to show up as the best version of ourselves.

There is a plethora of studios in our community that offer a variety of yoga modalities (Yin, Vinyasa, Restorative, prenatal, etc.), styles (hot, aerial, family, pet friendly, etc.), locations (outdoor, gym, wineries), and length of class. Hamilton County also has several parks that offer a serene atmosphere for your yoga routine. Some of my favorites are the White River State Park, Holland Park, and Potter’s Bridge Park. If you prefer a more private and solitary practice, look no further than your own back yard or private room. There’s nothing like being in touch with nature while restoring your inner peace.
